Ziba's Fanciful Design Projects Allow Innovation Even When No One Pays http://ifttt.com/images/no_image_card.png

Portland-based design firm Ziba is adding a new name to its already impressive list of clients: itself. After 30 years at the helm, founder Sohrab Vossoughi is turning his team's energy towards self-directed projects. He's set up a skunkworks group called Ziba Labs that brings members of the company's cross functional teams together to work on speculative projects that run the gamut from topographically inspired whiskey flasks to Gehry-esqe bird houses, and some of the results are already helping make life easier for all of us.
