Ex-NASA Tech Boss Crams Cloud Into Box http://ifttt.com/images/no_image_card.png

Chris Kemp isn't one to fall in line. As the chief information officer at the NASA Ames Research Center, Kemp spearheaded the creation of Nebula, a software platform that overhauled NASA's approach to computing power, pushing the space agency into the age of Google and Amazon. Then he fought to share this creation with the rest of world, battling a government bureaucracy that wasn't exactly built for open source software. And now that everyone and their brother is putting their weight behind the open source project -- known as OpenStack -- Kemp is taking the thing in a new direction.
